Home Remodeling

Home remodeling often has the connotation of extreme pain and suffering.  While some may embrace the idea of spending a little bit of cash to fix up their home and use it as a chance to create a new and fresh environment, many regard it simply as a terrible nightmare!   It comes with tons of gruelling work, restless nights, and usually a filthy temporary living space – not fun at all!

Usually home-owers think it simply takes way too much time and effort with a lot of project management skills required not to mention copious amounts of cash.   More often than not, home remodeling is just a small project - not a drastic reconstruction which may result in a totally unlivable space.   However if you have a dream of a completely new home or you got an idea from someone else’s palatial mansion, you may be in for a long journey ahead.   Then again, why try and fix some aspect of your home if it’s really not even broken?

Posted by Home Renovation Ideas | Home Remodeling | Tuesday 13 January 2009 4:39 pm

The Not So Perfect Home Remodeling Product

Posted by Home Renovation Ideas | Home Remodeling | Tuesday 13 January 2009 4:37 pm

Buying the dreamhome of your choice usually comes with some heavy financial burdens or painful decisions. The one you end up choosing does not always come one hundred percent the way you wished you could have it. To quote the real estate agent, “it has such potential”, what they meant was – it’s going to cost you both arms and possibly a leg to get it to that so-called “potential”.

If you are a savvy project manager or home improvement enthusiast, then it really doesn’t have to be. You could easily plan on getting the materials yourself and hiring a contractor to do the work for you, so that there is no mark up on the materials they use. They usually add at least twenty five percent margin to all construction materials in their quotes for any home remodeling product that they need to purchase for the contract, be it tiles, bricks, paint, you name it.
