Cleaning Tips
Cleanliness is next to godliness but for most homes just getting someone to push the vacuum cleaner round once a week can be a challenge so when it comes to giving the house a deep clean it can be a nightmare. There are a few rooms in the house that should have a good clean at least once a week, in particular the kitchen and bathroom which accumulate germs very quickly. This doesn’t have to be a complicated job, something as simple as wiping the surfaces with antibacterial wipes.
When it comes to the bathroom, you need to do more than just wipe the toilet down. Where there’s a lot of water and moisture and where it gets warm you’re going to find lots of germs. Bath screens in particular are very quick to gather mildew and mould and should be wiped down after each use. If you’ve got some really difficult stains try mixing some water, vinegar and baking soda as this will leave everything clean and sparkling. Showers need to be cleaned down after each use too, even if it’s just wiping the tiles and tray down and clearing the plug hole, it will leave it much cleaner.
The kitchen has the potential to be quite dangerous if it’s not cleaned properly as there’s so much food in it. It’s always good practice to have separate instruments for raw and cooked meat. Paying for and storing extra utensils might not be practical in which case it’s essential that every thing’s washed well after each use. Rub some salt into the shopping board if it has had raw meat on it as this will help to purify it. The taps very rarely get a good wash but there are so many germs on your hands especially when you’ve been handling raw meet that it’s essential they’re cleaned just as well.
